On the sewing front, I have been quilting a quilt for Rosie (almost finished) and made this little quilt top for our grand baby, due in May.
Did I tell you that the baby is going to be a boy? Yep, a boy! So the first thing I did after my daughter told us was jump for joy, streaked my hair with blue coloring and fabric shopped for boyish fabrics. Then I put away my stack of pink fabric that I had collected and with which I was ready to go quilt crazy. So I guess I have to make another Green Bay Packers quilt. I swore off making another football themed quilt, but they are big-time Packers fans and are considering decorating the room with a Packers theme. The first item my SIL bought for the baby was a package of Packers pacifiers.
I hope everyone is having a great start to 2014. For us, it was off to a negative start. My nephew by marriage passed away at the young age of 34. I am a believer of deaths come in threes and it did. I also recently battled a kidney stone. Okay, here is the weird thing that happens when I get a stone, if I mention it to my sister, who lives in Missouri, she will end up in the ER within two to three weeks with a kidney stone. We haven't figured out why we get stones. Our parents and brother were never plagued with them. Many people think kidney stones are closely related to diet. I know longer think so. I've had six stones over the last ten years and my diet has drastically changed in that time period. Also, my sister and I have very different diets; we are always comparing.
So here is a toast (holding up a martini glass) to a February filled with sewing, great health and much exercise. On the flip side of things, I think we got all the negative out of the way for 2014! Woo-hoo!
