Summer in Full Swing

Summer is flying by.... In fact, some of my flowers have already peaked.  I participated in two triathlons (swim, bike, run) this summer.  The first one was a very small tri through the YMCA, called Try-A-Tri.  It was put together by Kelly Covert, a Level 1 triathlon trainer at the YMCA in Central New York.  By the way, she is a great tri-athlete.

The tri consisted of swimming 400 yards, biking 9 miles (and was it ever hilly), and running 1.5 miles. Shorter distances than the usual triathlon, but this tri was to get your feet wet and get a taste of triathlons.

The tri took place at the Cato-Meridian Recreational Center. Here's a picture of me and a friend getting ready to swim. Aren't the goggles and cap wonderful accessories?!!?! I'm wearing the black and white tri-suit with the blue swim cap.

This is a picture of the small group that participated in the Cato Try-A-Tri. I'm in the mix wearing my son's green sun visor for good luck, and it did bring me good luck. I was happy content with my overall time.

It was a fun event and I would highly recommend it for anyone's first triathlon. More later about my second tri - Iron Girl. Hope you are having a great summer! Oh, and I have a little knitting to show later!
