Taste Of Summer

The weather in Central New York today is absolutely gorgeous. Sunny and breezy; just perfect for sitting in the sun and knitting. So that's how I spent the morning. The laundry is still in a heap and dust bunnies are hopping across the hardwood floors, but I enjoyed myself and accomplished some knitting. I love knitting outside, listening to the birds and looking at the flowers.

Although the hostas haven't begun to bloom, they are growing Rowan Summer Tweed. Yes, yes, yes.... I love it, love it, love it.
So I picked enough for a sweater or two.

I know that in the past, I've stated that I was not going to purchase anymore yarn and that all knitting would come from my stash. I lied. And I don't even care. I'm back to purchasing yarn with no specific purpose in mind. It's so much fun.

And finally, I must say I am in the mood to spin, spin, spin. I'm going to try my hand at angora since I have a pile of it from my bunny, Harley.

Poor Salina......

Poor, poor Salina..... for two weeks she's been on life support; limp and breathless, waiting to be blocked. She's barely holding on by a thread. So since I'm off work Monday, I think I'll shake the dust off of her, wet 'er down, and block the tramp.

With today being Father's Day and the kids away at college. I had the task of entertaining Mr. Effer. You know, be a good wife and plan an activity for the day. Sorta like babysitting a toddler. So Mr. Effer and I took a lackadaisical drive to Ithaca, NY, to the Farmers Market. It's a quaint market located on Cayuga Lake. We hung out for the afternoon sampling wines, eating ethnic foods and listening to some bongo music.

Despite the overcast sky, the weather was beautiful.... in the low 80's with a cool breeze coming off of the lake.

I managed to save enough energy for the ride home to cast on for the Nicole Jacket.

So that was my day, I mean Mr. Effer's Father's Day!!! Did you do anything special for a man in your life?
