I am truly the most dysfunctional person that I know...... I should just face the fact that this is me..... I am what I am. So learn to live with it, buck up, and don't be surprised when you screw something up!
For Christmas Mr. Effer gave me Knit Picks Options Needles. I absolutely love them; they're interchangeable, smooth, quick, etc., and I highly recommend them. So this past week, I decided to organize the needles and place them in the case. Yes, it's been five months but at least it's done and the needles are no longer taking up space on the dining room table.
As I put the needles in the case, I discovered that I had only one #5 and one #6 interchangeable needle. WTF!!?!! Where were their mates? Did I have too much eggnog and whiskey on Christmas Eve for this to have gone unnoticed?
Crap!!! Knit Picks will never believe that they made a mistake, that it took this knitter five months to realize she didn't have the correct needles. I blamed the entire mishap on Knit Picks; I was pissed!!! And then a dim, very dim, light went off in my head amongst all the cerebral clutter. My gauge is off on Salina. I've got problems...... Sure enough, I am knitting Salina using a circular needle that I put together with a #5 and a #6 needle. Knit Picks gave me too many options!!! I think I'm going to stick with Addi Turbo needles, you know the kind..... slick and fast, and NOT interchangeable!!!

Summer Knitting Contest
I was reading The A.D.D. Knitter's blog in which she posted her summer knitting goals along with a link to a summer knitting contest hosted by Ali (Skeins Her Way). I'm so excited!! Of course, I had to enter it. So here are my summer knitting goals:
1. Improve my knitting skills while intoxicated. No more frogging with a hangover!
2. Finish Salina - okay, that's going to be tough. Because I have a major screw up that is going to require some frogging. Apparently I misread the directions, don't have gauge and didn't think knitting 15 plus rows was necessary.
3. Finish two pairs of socks that have been dust collectors for over a year.
4. Come to terms with short row heels. I'm not sure why I get confused with short row heels and lose my place. But I do, and that's a problem. I can't meet goal #3 unless I can knit short row heels while sipping cocktails.
5. Cast on and finish (yep, there's that word "finish") the Nicole Jacket from the Queensland Collection by Jane Ellison.
So that's it folks. Just a few summer knitting goals, a little pressure, and a contest! Be sure to join in the fun!
