Earth Day

Don't forget that Sunday, April 22, is Earth Day.

It's hard to believe that today is sunny and warm. After all this is what Monday morning looked like as I left for work about 6:15 a.m.

And this is what today looks like. Sunny and warm. No snow shoes required, only flip-flops!

Have a great day!

A Moment of Madness

As I mentioned in my previous post, while seaming together Silk Tweed Sweater aka Swamp Ass Sweater, I had a moment of madness. Now at my age, if I sit too long, my hips begin to hurt... (Okay, ladies keep your minds outta the gutter. Old hooores don't necessarily have that problem!) Not only do the hips begin to hurt, but the back begins to ache as well. It's just because I'm approaching 50. Well, maybe I've spent a little more time on my back than most ladies! But anyway, I love to knit sweaters but absolutely, without a doubt, hate to do the finishing.

As I was sitting for endless hours, weaving in the loose ends, etc., I kept thinking about what Mia said about my felted needle case..... she said something like... you better take the scissors to that ugly thing. But I held her back; I couldn't let her cut up my felted needle case. It was a pattern in my head that just went wrong.... way, way wrong. It's an unusable piece of felt; too thick to roll up as a needle case. It was my first try at stash busting. We all know we have unwanted balls around our house. So I thought I would give some love to a pair of unwanted balls. Gosh, this post is trashy!!!!

So in the middle of seaming Silk Tweed, I got up out of the chair, adjusted my swamp ass, sticking underwear and marched right over to my pile of unwanted balls and mish-mash that sits in the corner of my dining room. Yes, the yarn has invaded the dining room along with all the other rooms of the house. I grabbed the needle case and scissors..... and moments later I had these.

And what did I learn from all of this? I can't cut straight..... I need to repeat kindergarten.
