I am truly the most dysfunctional person that I know...... I should just face the fact that this is me..... I am what I am. So learn to live with it, buck up, and don't be surprised when you screw something up!
For Christmas Mr. Effer gave me Knit Picks Options Needles. I absolutely love them; they're interchangeable, smooth, quick, etc., and I highly recommend them. So this past week, I decided to organize the needles and place them in the case. Yes, it's been five months but at least it's done and the needles are no longer taking up space on the dining room table.
As I put the needles in the case, I discovered that I had only one #5 and one #6 interchangeable needle. WTF!!?!! Where were their mates? Did I have too much eggnog and whiskey on Christmas Eve for this to have gone unnoticed?
Crap!!! Knit Picks will never believe that they made a mistake, that it took this knitter five months to realize she didn't have the correct needles. I blamed the entire mishap on Knit Picks; I was pissed!!! And then a dim, very dim, light went off in my head amongst all the cerebral clutter. My gauge is off on Salina. I've got problems...... Sure enough, I am knitting Salina using a circular needle that I put together with a #5 and a #6 needle. Knit Picks gave me too many options!!! I think I'm going to stick with Addi Turbo needles, you know the kind..... slick and fast, and NOT interchangeable!!!

Oh MAN! That totally sounds like something I would do! I wonder if the size written with a fine-tip Sharpie would stay on the needle? I may have to try that tonight!
LOL! All kinds of options!
I did that once with my Boye set, and the sizes are totally different colors. I just forgot to switch one of them after the ribbing. Hope you're not too far in!
And this, in a nutshell, is why The Sheep doesn't do the interchangeables! I hear good things about them. And they certainly make sense. But I just know that I'd be losing them all the time. Or knitting with two different sizes. Or some other error that has yet to be invented and is just waiting for me to make it...
Uff da!!! I am always quick to dish out the blame and usually realize that it's all my fault anyway...:(
Oops!! I have the Boye changer ones, but at least the needle sizes are different colors. KnitPicks should have done something to distinguish them!
Oh my! Well, I guess it's better than knitting with a 5 and a 10 or something!! Do the options knit just like Addis? Or are they a little heavier? I like Addis but have gotten so used to bamboos that i dont know if I can switch.
I've tagged you for the 7 random facts thing :)
Oh Diana! That is something I would do! One questions--were you drinking when you started it? :)
Ooh noo... I also think they would'nt belive you...sorry..
lol ;)
Oh, holy crud in a basket! That just sucks!!!
Darn you KNIT PICKS!!!
Call them. Tell them. Laugh a lot and they'll make it right.
Oh gosh! I *so* hear you - we seem to be very much alike ;)
I tagged you! Go. Be random! :-)
I did that with my Denise's although it was completely my fault. Looking forward to seeing Salina!
I'm glad you got it figured out! Also, I like the new look of your blog - very nice! (Maybe I just haven't been away from the bloglines format in a while! ;-)
