Fair Isle Knitting.... Oh My!

Finally I have found a project that excites me and renews my addiction of knitting. I think the last six or eight months, I have been in a state of knitting blahs. This project that I speak of is the Fair Isle Felted Tote. Oh my gosh....this is sooo much fun. I think about it while I'm at work and can't wait to get home to resume knitting. Sandra (Knitting Satori) put together a KAL for the fair isle tote, and the link is on my sidebar.

Mia (Stoned Knitter) and I got together before spinning guild on Sunday to look at our yarns that we had ordered from Knit Picks. We were overwhelmed and could not make decisions. So basically I just started knitting and am selecting yarns as I go along. I'm going to use dark, rich winter colors. And my next bag will be knitted with lighter colors. Yes, you heard it here..... I'm already planning the second bag.

I do want to say thanks to Sandra for organizing the KAL, and I also want to thank Erica (Skein Street). Erica may not remember this, but she taught me how to read charts and knit with two strands of yarn. I still have the schematic that she drew for me and the instructions. She's a great teacher!

So here's a picture of the beginning of my tote. The base is solid black, and what looks like red is actually a deep cranberry with gray mixed in.

I can actually see Susan (Needles and Stash) going crazy with this project. She loves to play with color!!!!

Toodles....
