Attempt #2 at the Bitchin' Mittens

My second attempt at The Bitchin' Mitten is about to be partially frogged. So it's time to put away the alcohol and search for a pattern. The thumb is again looking obscene, and I swear I'm not obscessed with the male anatomy.




You guys are so good.... it is the stitch pattern from the My So Called Scarf.

Short post today.... gotta work on the mittens!

Bitchin' Mittens

A couple of months ago, I joined Dave Daniel's KAL - Bitchin' Mittens. I knew at the time, that it would be difficult for me to start, yes, I said start the darn mittens. Although most knitters have difficulty completing projects and are casting on for another project before they finish the one at hand, I on the other hand have trouble gettin' the yarn on the needles. Once I cast on, I usually finish the handknit item. The completion deadline for the Bitchin' Mittens is Labor Day so I casted on this evening as I work best under pressure.

So here's a peak at my mittens in progress. It's a little pronographic, so have the children leave the room.



See what happens when you knit under the influence of three amaretto slushes..... I guess I have some frogging to do as the thumb is too narrow, and looks like a pointy, little dick.

I think it would have been easier to follow a pattern rather than just start knitting. I've never made mittens on straight needles before so I thought I would give it a whirl. Do you recognize the stitch pattern?
