Why?

This past week has been a strange and sad week for me. Last Saturday a friend of mine was driving to Verona Beach with a friend, and she made a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle. M escaped without injury but her friend was killed. This friend was helping her get through a tough time with her abusive husband, and I think she was eventually going to be with him. Although I have only known M for about a year, she is a great nurse and friend. You know, one of those nurses who can always laugh no matter how bad the day is going.... She was always smiling at work, and we always had so much fun in the med room where everyone lets their hair down with a joke or a smart crack about something.

Every waking moment, I feel her pain and her loss.

I can just see M chatting and driving to the beach on a Saturday morning, wearing her bright red lipstick and a big smile, her spirit soaring because dammit it's her weekend off from work and you have to live for the moment. Then one wrong turn and her life changes forever as does the lives of all involved. Her friend just reached his dream of becoming a nurse this past month and was beginning his new career.

Life can be so painful at times..... so short for others..... and always leaves me wondering... why?

Finally, Some Nice Weather!

This past week was sunny and beautiful. Sammy and I spent the days lounging around on the patio soaking up some rays, so not much blogging was accomplished. However, my next post will include knitting content.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day.

Toodles....
