Whew....

The knitting funk is over; it was worse than getting a bad case of influenza.

Yesterday I casted on for a pair of socks, 2x2 rib, in a cotton denim yarn: Marks & Kattens Indigo Jeansgarn, 100% Bomull (cotton). And I'm thinking that I should probably expect 5-10% shrinkage. With wear and washing, the yarn fades like a pair of worn blue jeans. It has a nice feel to it, is soft, and knits up nicely. I've had this yarn in my stash for quite a while, so it's time to put it to use.

Tomorrow I'm off work, and I plan on knitting the day away and, of course, casting on for another project or two!

On the homefront, Kristen (DD) is planning her "final exam survival trip" to Cancun. So I put together a little care package for her: flip flops, beach towels, sun tan lotion and moisturizer, pajamies, imodium (just in case...), etc... and a little makeup bag. Of course, I included a card with a fat check. Because you know how college kids are.... broke... sucking the life money out of mom and dad!

The tanning oil and moisturizer is Hempz. The moisturizer smells absolutely wonderful, and I was going to purchase one for myself but way too expensive for me. I'll have to ask Stoned Knitter if hemp really helps to achieve a dark tan.

So I'm off to the post office to mail Kristen her package.

Toodles.... Have a great day!

Still In A Funk...

Recovery is slow as I'm still in a state of knitting funk. However, remember when Mia and I dyed some roving? Well I didn't show the end result. We dyed it and then put it outside to dry. It looked so butt-ugly that I left the roving outside for several days to flap in the wind. I was hoping some big honkin' vulture would fly by, swoop down and steal it for nesting material.
Well it didn't happen, so this is what I was left with....

And I don't think Mia was excited about her roving either because she left it at my house for several days. When she picked it up, we laughed and challenged each other to knit something worthwhile.

But as I spin, I'm falling in love with the colors. Maybe it's the Irish Cream in me, but I see a pair of socks in my near future.

Toodles....
