You Know You Knit Too Much When ....

A coworker asks how much fiber you take in each day, and you answer that you knit one to two hours per day.

Do you think that's enough fiber to keep my colon healthy?

Is your daily fiber consumption adequate for a healthy body?

Alpacas + dye = FUN!

The other morning I received a phone call around 6:30 a.m. It was the voice of The Chosen One, Mia's husband. He said Mia was taking the day off of work and needed a playmate. So on three hours of sleep, I was off and running. My first order of the day was to pick up breakfast sandwiches. When I arrived at Mia's, I was met by a tall, white male with very soft lips and big beautiful eyes. He nuzzled my neck and ears. Wow, what a guy!

Doobie (Dulae) can give me a kiss anytime. I'd leave my lover for him!

After eating our McMuffins, we began the process of untangling unwinding hanks of undyed yarn so we could play. Somewhere along the line, yarn crossed over yarn, and we had a gigantic mutha of a mess! All I could do was laugh and drink Irish Cream. Yes, I know it was before noon, but I needed alcohol to fix the mess and hold back Mia who threatened the yarn with scissors!

Into the dye pot....

Out of the dye pot to dry...

Then the yarn was tossed carefully placed into a bag for the journey home.

And ended up on the kitchen table, where it still resides three days later. I'll be shaking the dust off of it next week!

So I guess Mr. Effer and I will be busy this weekend untangling my newly dyed, self-striping sock yarn!

Thanks, Mia, for a great adventure!

Warning!!!! Mushy Content!

I've been working the 3 to 11 shift the last two weeks as a favor to my boss. And every night when I come home, Mr. Effer is sound asleep and the house is very, very quiet. It's wonderful kinda lonely. One can actually knit without interruptions.

Last night I came home and found a note on the table from Mr. Effer. Now, mind you, this man is not very romantic and we've been married a long time.

So in his chicken-scratch handwriting he left me this note:

"Remember when we had chinese at Chuck and Lea's? Remember I didn't have a fortune in my cookie? I didn't need one because you're my fortune! Love, Dan"

Isn't that sweet? It just warmed my heart.

Okay, I know there is no knitting content here. But wait until my next post, it will be a drive through with lots of pics!

Toodles....
