Yep, I know.... I'm a little late in keeping my blog updated. But, again, I blame Mr. Effer. Do you think I could find my camera? Of course not.... it was in the bottom of my knitting bag. I blame him because one of his primary duties in this 29-year-marriage is to keep me organized. Yes, I did say 29 years. We just had our anniversary on the 12th of February. And who ever thought we would last this long?.... not me or any of the family! But anyhoo... this is where I was last Thursday with
Mia, Stoned Knitter:

We started our morning off with a quick breakfast at the B'ville Diner. I think everyone needs to dine there just to understand the significance of being charged extra for extra crispy bacon. Yes, you read that correctly. Mia ordered extra crispy bacon and they charged her an extra $1.55 for cooking it a little longer. I cracked up! They finally agreed to waive the charge. Next time she is going to bring a hotplate and cook it herself!
Then our roadtrip began.... We ended up in Saratoga Springs and visited a few little shops along with stopping at
Saratoga Needle Arts. What a beautiful little town. The weather was warm and we strolled down Broadway without wearing coats or jackets. Can you believe the weather we are having in New York? Geeze Louise, gimmee another winter like this next year!
Saratoga Needle Arts has a great selection of yarn. So on the yarn-o-meter I would give them an 8 out of 10. Even though there was warmth outside, it was cold inside... if you know what I mean! The two women in the store certainly were not friendly or even cared that they had customers. There was no fuzzy warmth except when fondling the yarn! So on the warm-n-fuzzy meter I would give them a frigid 0 out of 10. No,I take that back; I'll give them a 1 out of 10. One of the ladies did say hello. Now on the price-o-meter, they get a whopping 4 out of 10. Their prices sucked; outrageously high. Plan on spending an extra two to four dollars per skein. Ouch! So we didn't buy any yarn.
The trip was well worth it, though, because Mia bought a beautiful necklace. Check out her
blog for a picture of it.
On the way home, we stopped at
Turning Stone Casino and Mia played some cards. I just couldn't part with my bucks to gamble. All my gambling usually takes place in the stockmarket, which hasn't been all that kind to me lately, just so-so. Remember in the early 90's when you could day trade in the market and make mega bucks?.... Gee, I miss those days! I hate the "I'm in for the long haul type of market."
I promise the next post will have some knitting content and an olympics update!
