Olympics Update #1

I confess, I haven't casted on for a project during the opening ceremonies. I guess that's why I am a likkered up observer. I new I just couldn't conform to rules and regulations. I'm just wonderin', do we have to do any kind of drug or alcohol test after the olympics?

The Olympics

Since I cannot participate in the Knitting Olympics, due to a previous shoulder injury, I've decided to be an observer. Hence, the button on the sidebar. Yep, I vow to stay likkered up during the Olympics and be a great hekkler cheerleader. My theme for this year's winter Olympics is It's Five O'Clock Somewhere! Yep, you go girls! Knit your hearts out and make me proud to be an American (sorry Canadian friends: Kate, Lizzie and Jackie)!

I'm rootin' for Susan who is on the Throw Team to bring home the gold! Knit first then drink. Or better yet, leave the drinkin' to me and Mia, as we will be on the sofa cheering you on! Cheers!

In my previous post, I posted about the desire to be a better person. Well that must have been a fleeting thought...... because I spent the afternoon knitting and laughing with a friend. Annie is so funny. She's only been knitting about a year or two, and always knits a disaster soon followed by a holy froggin' event. So we repeated that event!

So for knitting content, I am still working on the baby blanket for a great-niece that's on the way. I think they are going to name her Ella. I'm not sure if they have selected a middle name yet, but I am partial to the name Ella Elizabeth (or Elisabeth). With a short first name, I like a longer middle name. I even like the name Ella Elaine, and I have never been partial to the name Elaine. I don't know why, but I'm likin' the double E thing. Any other ideas for middle names? I'll send them along to Angela, the mommy.

So here's a pic of the progress on the baby blanket.
Hopefully I will finish it by the weekend so I can cast on for an umbilical hat and socks.
