Quickie Post!

Well spinning is just frustrating the hell out of me. So I think I'm going to have to give Becky a call for her spinning book. However, tonight Mr. Effer and I are goin' over to Mia's house for chocolate martinis and another spinning lesson. So with spinning wheel and this in tote, off I go.

And the quarters are for a game of poker if that should come to pass.

Thank you, thank you....

On a serious note, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement regarding spinning. I'm tryin', I'm tryin'. I really am!

I never spun on a drop spindle because I just decided to jump right into the spinning thing. I figured why waste money on it as most people use it for awhile and then buy a wheel.

Deb (Dudley Spinner) asked me if my wheel had a double drive or a Scotch tension. Who knows? I certainly don't. All of the tension is in my f*ckin' neck and shoulders! And a Scotch on the rocks doesn't help!

How do I spin.... Let me count the ways:

1. I spin like a person with three feet and not enough hands.

2. I spin like a f*ckin' truckdriver who hasn't been home in 7 days and he's three miles away and puttin' the pedal to the metal!

3. I spin like there is no such thing as eye-hand coordination!

4. I spin in dreadlock mode. In another day or two, I will have enough dreadlocks to make a wig for all readers of this blog!

5. If the wheel had lights on it, the living room would look like a disco dance floor!

On the knitting end, I'm making a baby blanket for my future great-niece. I worked on it Saturday night after Stoned Knitter left my house, and I thought I was going to town on it. I thought knitting under the influence is an easy thing and so much fun! Well, the next day when my blood was back to normal, I looked at it and had to frog at least 8 rows, maybe more. Major screw ups (notice it's plural)!

If the babies for which I knit these blankets develop the attitude of these blankets, then Angela and Brad better watch out. This little girl will have major attitude. This blanket started out as an entirely different pattern. I followed the pattern, casting on 167 stitches and knitted the border without any problems. Then I continued on... and when I knitted to row 25 the problems began. There was an error in the pattern. I emailed Leisure Arts regarding the error and they have yet to answer my email. I usually do the math first and make sure the pattern works out, but this time I failed to do so. Damn! So I began frogging. I kept the border and made up my own pattern. And I swear, there really is a pattern error; it isn't me!

Yesterday I was off work and it was a "wasted" day. I accomplished nothing but got into the homemade Irish cream and had five glasses by the afternoon. I took a looooong afternoon nap yesterday. Mr. Effer woke me up when he came home from work. So today, I'm catching up on everything that I should have done yesterday along with some housework (cough, cough).

Things I must do today:

1. Shave my legs. Mia (Stoned Knitter) said, What? It isn't May 1st yet!"
2. Call Mr. Effer at work and tell him I'm shaving my legs!
3. Spin more dreadlocks.
4. Clean master bath.
5. Clean bedroom and strip the bed.
6. Spin a few more dreadlocks!
7. Knit 7 inches of the baby blanket.
8. Cook dinner.
9. Internet shop for some wild yarns. I need to put the funk back into dysfunktional.
10. Knit a little bit more.

I'm in the mood for lists today. It makes me feel organized even though I know I won't accomplish everything on the list.

Toodles.....
