Happy New Year fellow knitters! For New Year's Eve, Mr. Effer and I went to
Stoned Knitter's house and had a great time. We played cards, ate delicious food, and consumed alcoholic beverages, which by the way the shots of whatever with cranberry juice were absolutely delicious. The Chosen One (Mr. Stoned Knitter) is a very good cook. Yep, she has him trained well. I can't believe how many knitters have well-trained husbands; it's just another thing we all have in common!
Mr. Effer even got to go out to the barn and meet the alpacas. He thought they were cute; maybe I'm getting closer to becoming an alpaca farmer.
Okay, the greatest thing about New Year's Eve at Mia's house was spinning. Yep, she introduced me to her wheel and some roving. I am hooked!!! Thanks, Mia!
Oh, and guess what?!? My Christmas present from Mr. Effer hasn't arrived yet from the
Copper Moose. Nanny, nanny, boo-boo.... I'm getting a
Louet S10 DT Spinning Wheel. I just can't believe it.
And as a tease, this came in the mail the other day.

Two plus pounds of beautiful, soft roving. I can't wait for my wheel. Mr. Effer thinks it should arrive Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I'm off work Friday, so I hope it's here by then. I can just picture it.... I'm home alone with the stereo, the wheel and a glass of
Bailey's Irish Cream. Oh, baby, I'll be spinning spindles of crap, but I won't care because I'll be having fun!
Again, I'm reminded how much I love Mr. Effer. Okay, I'm getting sappy, but he remembered the brand and model number of the wheel I liked when I was playing with them at Rhinebeck. How sweet!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Eve. Most of all, I hope the new year brings happiness, good health and a little bit of wealth (well, maybe more than a little bit of wealth).
Toodles....
