The evening started with Susan (Needles and Stash) as our flower child. She handed out a flower to everyone who came to the door, and she turned away no one. However, after a drink or two, or maybe three, she began to let her duty slide. I think it was the Rum Punch beginning to speak!
And then there was food.... lots of food.... fruit platters, Asian slaw, artichoke and asiago cheese dip, sandwiches, chips, potato salad, and some yummy curry (yes, I said curry) cookies. We stuffed ourselves silly!
But we left room for some of this .... Amaretto Slushes.
Here's Mia (Stoned Knitter) showing Liz a picture of herself after she fell into the trash can. Yep, Liz was the first and only knitter to fall! Sherry is in the background laughing her butt off at Liz. Both Liz and Sherry are avid knitters, but unfortunately don't have blogs (yet). We're still twisting their arms a bit.

There was some drunken knitting and some spinning goin' on. Carla was spinning a gorgeous green yarn. Hopefully, she'll post a picture on her blog to show off that gorgeous homespun. Susan was knitting a purse for a niece. Sherry was knitting the second sleeve for a sweater that she's been working on for awhile. And Liz was
So next year, there will be another knitstock. Any ideas where and when? Anyone want to host it or know of a good place (such as a public park) in which to hold it? We are definitely open to ideas.
Cheers!

Ooooo...curry cookies actually sound pretty good. You will have to write a Knitstock Cookbook! Procceds could fund the beverages for next year's event...well, maybe it might make a dent anyway. Sounds like a good time was had by all!
Sounds like a good event. Unfortunatly, I am not a good knitter when I am drinking. The evidence has all been frogged, but the horrors of mangled projects are still in my mind.
Ok..As I was reading your entry Diana, Richard walks up behind me and says "so why didn't you all just call it KNIT SOCK instead of KNIT STOCK" (LOL!)
Anyway, thank you for being such a great hostess Diana. Had a blast. When I got home Richard said he almost called the cell to tell me "just stay and have fun" The kids indeed were in bed when I got home ;)
And I owe some folks the recipe for the curry shortbreads. Mia already emailed me for it. Gotta get off my lazy duff and type it out for y'all.
Thanks again. Once I ply the green singles I'll blog about it :)
Oh man I love artichoke and cheese dip!! And are you going to post the curry cookies recipe? Sounds interesting.
Hey, you didn't wait for ALL the pictures *wink* If you put up pics of me turnabout is fair play, ya know!
What a great idea!!! Wish I could have been there. Curry cookies would have just been a bonus.
Cool blog BTW, got here via Stoned Knitter.

Awww! I missed knitstock! Oh well, maybe next year if I'm around!
Oh man...if I lived in the area, I would have totally come to Knitstock!!!! Peace, love, and yarn...does it get any better than that?!?
Too funny. Maybe we should host one of those, too.
I was almost there, was going to come with Carla right up until Thursday but duty called. My boys had a concert in Norwich (yes we live about an hour south of you)so I couldn't make it. My husband had his one and only softball game a year and was not going to miss it. i have been reading your blogs regularly and feel like i practically know you all already.
BTW if you are looking for wool, i will have some fresh off the sheep in April. You are welcome to come down, feel the wool and meet the critters. I have sheep in many colors, one angora bunny and two angora goats (mohair).
I'm there! You name the time and place :-)
What an absolutely fabulous idea and what fun you all had, I am so jealous I want to be stoned at Knitstock too!!
Well it sounds like you had a blast! I'm sorry I couldn't be there.............
