What's In Your Bag?

First, I must say, I love my knitting bag. It was made for me by Erin's mom about a year ago, and it has received plenty of use. By the way, Erin selected the fabric, which I just love. But here is my problem: My knitting bag has become a personal suitcase and it's filled with junk! So in desperation I emptied the contents onto the kitchen table and was amazed at the contents:

Hand sanitizer - gel and wipes
Alcohol prep pads
Post It Notes
Batteries - one 9 volt and one AA. (Get your mind out of the gutter, vibrators take larger batteries!)
Miniature sewing kit - I can't sew worth sh*t!
A button that says "It's okay to ask me if I've washed my hands"
A reference book: Nurse's Drug Guide 2006
Ziploc bag with imodium
Excedrin Migraine (one bottle)
Triactin Cough Syrup (one bottle)
Halls cough drop (just one)
Peppermint hard candy (just one)
Dove deodorant
Obey Your Body hand lotion
Dental floss
A small mirror
Tissues - Given to me by Susan, and a few dirty tissues, too!
A fun size Hershey bar, a remnant of halloween
A candle that was given to me at work about 3 months ago, and I never removed it from the bag. We lit it at work, which is a big no-no in a hospital!
$21.00 dollars
An empty eyeglass case
Pens and highlighters
A calculator
Various business cards
Knitting content: way too many stitch holders and markers, measurng tape, needle sizer, #11 Addi circular needles, #10 Clover circular needles, yarn from a previous project, a band from a skein of yarn, empty wrappers from stitch holders and a crochet hook.
This really puzzled me, since I don't drink much wine: A cork from a wine bottle?!?!?!?!?

Okay, here's the question: What's in your knitting bag? Fess up, empty those bags and let us know. Consider yourself tagged: Kate, Liz, Mia, Susan, Sandra, Abi, Jess, Wendy, Cheryl, Lisa , Karen, Laurie, Cathy and Deb. And of course, if you read this post and I didn't tag you, consider yourself tagged!

It's So Fricken Cold

It is soooo fricken cold in our house. Mr. Effer is on this kick about keeping the electric bill at a minimum. Therefore, I am on strike and refuse to cook, clean or have sex!!! Well, I rarely cook or clean anyway!!!

But I can still knit! Having a scarf or sweater on my lap is the only thing keeping me warm these days. I'm almost done with the Irish Hiking Scarf and will post a picture soon.

Have you seen the Saxon Scarf that Cathy is working on? I'm in love with it and just have to knit one.

M.I.A.

I've been missing in action from blogland. We had a great Thanksgiving, and it sounds as if all of you had a great turkey day, too. I'll get caught up on all my blog reading tonight and tomorrow.

Our trip to St. Louis was great. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to meet Wendy, although she did try contacting me at my sister's house. Sorry, Wendy! It was crazy trying to see both sides of the family in three days' time, and Mr. Effer's side of the family always consumes the majority of our time. My father-in-law is 86 and lives alone, so we try to spend a great deal of time at his house. But it was absolutely wonderful seeing my nieces and nephews.

Do you remember this sweater?
I knitted it a while back but never finished it. I took it along to St. Louis to finish and then never had a chance to work on it much. So I finished it the other day and finally mailed it to St. Louis. The sweater has traveled 1900 miles and now it's taking another trip to St. Louis.

This is a short post so I can get caught up reading everyone's blog.

Toodles.....
