So now that my beloved stash will have a home upon my death, I feel relieved. Today I ran across this website: anticraft.com. Check it out and let me know what you think. It's different! Has anyone tried knitting with wire? They have a project on their site.

And Speaking of Morbidity....

What's In Your Stash?
In my younger days if someone asked me about my stash, I wouldn't have responded one hundred plus skeins of yarn. My current stash does have a similarity to my former high school stash in that it is well hidden and brings pleasure. It's just that I can't smoke my current stash! Darn, darn, darn!
You may wonder why I'm writing about my old stash versus my current stash. Well, I inherited a knitter's stash from a friend whose aunt was being placed into a nursing home. Fortunately for the aunt, she didn't have to endure a nursing home, but rather died peacefully at home the night before her scheduled admission. I think the thought of going to a nursing home killed her.
So I inherited four huge (and I mean huge) boxes of yarn! I emptied out the contents of the yarn on my living room floor and started sorting through the skeins and hanks. And then I found this.....

Yep, this is a lady with whom I would love to have had the opportunity to enjoy some knitting and conversation. She liked her whiskey among other things. And don't most knitters like to knit and sip? Susan, Kate, Liz and Sandra (just to name a few) all seem to enjoy their wine, cocktails, beer or whiskey! And in my naive days, I classified knitters as stuffy, boring, old ladies and have since found out the truth about this population subset.
After the experience of going through her stash, skein by skein. I felt a little sad and wondered what would happen to my stash when my last day on earth comes along. So I asked my husband to make sure my stash is not tossed in the trash (it would probably require a dumpster), but that someone would carefully sort through it and give it a little love. Dan (Mr. Effer) told me not to worry, my friends would be beating down the door looking for my stash and that my body would not even be cold yet! He seems to think he would call Susan first and the conversation would go like this: Susan, Diana passed away just a few hours ago. And Susan would reply with I'll be right over for the stash. Leave the garage door open because I'm going to back up the U-Haul to the garage and load from there. Thanks and I'll be over within the hour!
Now speaking of stash, hash, pot and being stoned. Have you checked out the new blog Stoned Knitter? It's very new and the first post cracked me up! Just the title itself makes me feel like I have something in common with this stoned knitter, and I think she's as equally dysfunctional as the rest of us!

Meme...
In this meme game, I was tagged by Lynn so here goes:
What is your all time favorite yarn with which to knit? Royal Tweed. I just love that stuff!
What are your favorite needles? Addis of course! I'm definitely an Addi ho!
What is the worst thing you've ever knit? A cardigan sweater with a hood, and the directions for the hood absolutely sucked. I should have done my own thing and it would have turned out better. Hoods are usually easy, but this one was horrible.
What is your favorite knit pattern? Gee, I really don't have one. I love to try new patterns, and I really don't like to knit the same pattern over and over.
What is your most valuable knitting technique? I love the Kitchener stitch and the three needle bind off.
Best knit book or magazine? I love Interweave Knits!
What are your favorite blogs? My favorites are listed on my blog although I love Kate's wit and humor. She really cracks me up.
What is your favorite knitwear designer? I don't think I have a favorite. But if I had to pick, I guess I would say Debbie Bliss.
What knit item do you wear the most? Socks, socks and socks.
Let's see who should I tag? Hmmm..... Susan and Erin you're tagged!
