TGIF and a three day weekend to boot! I drove home from work singing, "Put the booze in the blender...." And when I arrived home and opened the door, I was still singing those same words. So off came my scrubs, took one hell of a quick shower, donned some fresh rags, slid on clogs, and 20 minutes later, we were headed out for a drink and dinner. Two "Twisted Timbers" later, I once again had a big smile on my face! Gosh, I just love 3-day weekends. Can't we have at least one every month? My favorite knitbud in the whole wide world, Susan, has a 4-day work week every week. She is home knitting every Monday. I'm envious!
I'm so excited about the long weekend that I'm acting as if I have attention deficit disorder. I can't concentrate or get organized. Well, maybe I've had ADD all my life and was just never diagnosed! So I think I better set some goals for this weekend: paint the antique windows that have been awaiting a crackle finish for several months, finish knitting a sock whose mate was finished two months ago, and knit the right front panel of a sweater. Notice that I have no goals for cleaning the house. I'm thinking that dust-be-gone fairies will be arriving here any day now!
Everyone have a great Memorial Weekend! Knit-on!

Are Yarn Swifts Classified as Tools?
With less than a month until June 19th, it's time to think about Father's Day gifts. After 28 years of blissful marriage, it is extremely difficult to buy for my wonderful guy. If I ask him what he would like, he always replies with a lame answer such as I really don't need anything. However, I have a different opinion of holidays; I think holidays are for frivolous gifts. You don't have to "need" anything; you just have to want something.
So this year, when I asked him for gift ideas he responded with a one word answer: "tools." Now, let me think about this.... He is a man who rarely uses a tool for anything. He has very little to no carpentry skills and he doesn't work on our cars. So why does he want tools?
But wait (light bulb turning on in brain and big smile on face)! He does wind my yarn into balls using a ball winder. Maybe he could use a yarn swift to expedite the process. Yes, I am sure that would ease the burden of using the ball winder. Are yarn swifts classified as tools?

What a Gift!
Does anyone else have any gift ideas for Father's Day?
